Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Sunday night in Chaparral.
The body of a 50-year-old man was found in the 500 block of Paloma Blanca at around 9:30 p.m. According to deputies who responded, it appeared the man had been walking along the road and was hit by an unknown vehicle that has yet to be located.
A crash reconstruction team and the Office of the Medical Examiner were dispatched to investigate the incident.
Deputies have been unable to contact the victim’s next of kin.
