Deputies Investigate Shooting West Of Las Cruces

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators are looking for clues that will lead them to one or more suspects after two men in their early 20s received non-life threatening injuries when they were hit with shotgun pellets early Tuesday morning.

     Just after 2 a.m., deputies and the Criminal Investigations Division of the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 3800 block of Eastview Avenue, off Bamert Road west of Las Cruces.

   The two victims, who were standing outside of their home, reported that they were suddenly being hit with unknown objects. Further investigation concluded the victims received superficial wounds from shotgun pellets to their faces and upper body.

   The case is an open investigation and residents in the area are being questioned. Investigators believe the situation is an isolated incident.
