Doña Ana County Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate what was described as a “suspicious death” over the weekend of a 25-year-old male.
The body of Justin Baquera was found just after 12 p.m. on Sunday by some off-roaders who were in the area of Pete Domenici Highway near Santa Teresa. Sheriff’s detectives who were called to investigate noted the body was found wearing only undergarments, and did not appear to have suffered any type of trauma.
Baquera was identified from tattoos and recent booking photos at the Doña Ana County Detention Center. His family was notified and his body was then sent to the Office of the Medical Examiner to determine an exact cause of death.
According to detectives, Baquera’s last known addresses were in El Paso and Silver City. Anyone with information on his activities on the days leading up to his death is asked to call the detective assigned to the case, (575) 525-8810.
