DFW Baggage Inspector Accused In Series Of Thefts

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — A Transportation Security Administration baggage inspector at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport has been accused of stealing iPads from luggage during an eight-month period.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that 36-year-old Clayton Keith Dovel of Bedford has been indefinitely suspended from his job (http://bit.ly/HGwKsa).

Authorities say an investigation by airport police led to the recovery of eight stolen iPads.

Dovel was arrested in February and indicted this week on a charge of theft by a public servant of items valued at up to $20,000. If convicted, he could face two to 10 years in prison.

His attorney Greg Westfall did not immediately return a message from The Associated Press left on his cell phone Saturday.
