Difficult Driving Conditions On Some NM Roads
By KRWG News And Partners
The winter storm passing through New Mexico is causing difficult driving conditions this morning on numerous highways, particularly in northern and eastern parts of the state.
The Department of Transportation reports icy slush on Interstate 40 on both sides of Tucumcari due to heavy snow. Crews are plowing, salting and cindering.
Difficult driving conditions also are reported on stretches of U.S. 54 from Tucumcari to the Texas line and on Interstate 25 between Raton and Raton Pass.
Meanwhile, the storm is affecting students in Albuquerque. The public school district and the University of New Mexico are both delaying the start of their school days by two hours.
