Dona Ana County Launches Investigation

After a lengthy closed session today, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners issued the following statement, as read into the record by Commission Chairwoman Karen G. Perez.

“The County Commission wishes to reiterate its commitment to supporting a positive work environment, and to that end, the County has initiated an investigation of the recently concluded Granados civil trial in which the County was the defendant. The purpose of the investigation is to evaluate issues arising from the trial including discrimination, hostile work environment and retaliation. The investigation will be conducted by an outside agency. It will be thorough, unbiased and the results reported directly to the County Commission.”

At the direction of the Commission, the Doña Ana County Legal Department has contracted with Investigation Services of Albuquerque, N.M., to conduct the investigation and prepare the report.

No timetable for the report has been given.
