El Paso Passport Agency Reminds Summer Travelers It's Open For Business

By KRWG News

El Paso – Summer travel is right around the corner. Do you have your U.S. passport book or passport card? If not, and you need to travel within 14 days, you can apply at the El Paso Passport Agency.

The agency is located at 303 North Oregon Street in the historic Anson Mills Building, a few blocks from the U.S.-Mexico border in downtown El Paso. Paid public parking is available. The new agency alleviates the need for local residents with urgent travel plans to drive or fly to passport facilities in Tucson, Arizona or Houston, Texas.

Changes to travel document requirements over the past few years demonstrated the need to expand the passport network into previously underserved areas. In the last year, the U.S. Department of State has opened passport agencies in San Diego, California; St. Albans, Vermont; Buffalo, New York; and Atlanta, Georgia. Public counters were added at existing passport centers in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and Hot Springs, Arkansas.

U.S. citizens who need to travel within 14 days must call 1-877-487-2778 or TDD/TTY 1-888-874-7793 to make an appointment to apply in-person at the El Paso Passport Agency, where both passport books and passport cards will be issued on site.

Travelers can visit travel.state.gov to download application forms. The Bureau of Consular Affairs also provides the latest overseas travel safety information through its Twitter account (@TravelGov) and Facebook page.
