By KRWG News

New Mexico – The Friday, Dec. 10 agenda item to vote on final approval on the retirement plan design change proposal will be postponed to Friday, Dec. 17 during a special Board meeting, according to the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB).

"The Board needs more time to review the actuarial effects from the proposal revisions that have been made thus far," NMERB Chairman Mary Lou Cameron said, "this will also allow us more time to give our members the opportunity provide their input."

The regularly scheduled Dec. 10 Board meeting will still convene at 9 am the Albuquerque Public Schools John Milne Board Room located on 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE, and the public comment period will remain on the agenda. The Board will also discuss the updated actuarial information that reflects the changes made as a result of recent public input.

The Dec. 17 special Board meeting has been scheduled for 1:30 pm and will take place at Central New Mexico Community College's (CNM) Smith Brasher Hall located on 717 University Blvd. SE in Albuquerque. The purpose of the special Board meeting is to receive any additional public comments and to vote on the final approval of the NMERB's plan design change proposal.

In addition to the special Board meeting, the NMERB will also hold a public comment session on Wednesday, Dec. 15 at 4 pm, also at CNM's Smith Brasher Hall. The session is open to the public.
