  • Museums and Cultural Center: The city of Las Cruces Museum System consists of the Branigan Cultural Center, the Las Cruces Museum of Art, the Las Cruces Museum of Nature & science and the Las Cruces Railroad Museum
  • Branigan Cultural Center

o   Color & Vision exhibit opens July 1 with a reception from 5-7 p.m. which will run thru August 13. The Artwork of Ailleen Shannon is an exhibit which explores the career of artist Ailleen Shannon who lived in Las Cruces from 1925 until her death in 1964.
o   Thru July 2: “Fire and Fiber.” An exhibit that brings together local clay and fiber artists.

o   Plastics Unwrapped: An exhibit that explores how material culture was rapidly changed by plastics. Through August 20.

·         Museum of Art

o   Thursday, June 30 at 5:30 p.m.  Science Café – discussion of a current science topic. Manny Castillo to learn about the game and to pursue playing in the local area.

o   Saturday, July 2 at 10 a.m. Family Science Saturday, Earth Systems – “Biosphere”

o   Saturday, July 2 at 11 a.m. SNAP - Embrace artistic creativity while engaging in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics – featuring “Suminagashi, Floating Ink Paper Marbling.”

o   Saturday, July 2 at 11:30 a.m. Animal Encounters will present “Birds.”

o   Thru July 16: Light. Color, Space and Motion by Carlos Estrada Vega and David Alan Boyd.

  • Branigan Library: Library closed Sundays for the summer

o   Teen Game Night – Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. for ages 12-18.
o   Toddler Time – Wednesday & Thursday at 10 a.m. Story time for ages 3 and up.

o   Read to me - Every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Story time for ages 1-3.

o   Mother Goose Time – Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. Activities for infants & their adults. Located in the children’s Kiva.

o   Rhythm Round Up – Fridays at 10:30 a.m. Music & motion for ages 6-10.

o   Team Anime – Every Saturday at 1 p.m. Watch an hour of anime and do a manga or other Japanese related activity for ages 12-18.    

o   Library Lab – Fridays at 3:30 p.m. in the children’s Crafts Room.

o   Wednesday, June 29 at 2 p.m. in the boardroom. Adult Summer Reading Program presents: Chair Exercises for a Healthy Back. 

o   Wednesday, June 29 at 1 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room – Teen Screen, “Glory Road” rated PG. Texas Western coach Don Haskins led the first all-black starting line-up for a college basketball team to the NCAA national championship in 1966.

o   Wednesday, June 29 at 5 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room - Books to Movies, “The Martian,” rated PG.

o   Thursday, June 30 at 1 p.m. in the Children’s Craft Room – Homemade Temp Tattoos for grades 5 to 12.

o   Thursday, June 30 at 2 p.m. in the Roadrunner Room will feature Summer Screen with the presentation of the “Good Dinosaur” – Rated PG13
