·         Farmers and Crafts Market

  • Museums and Cultural Center: The city of Las Cruces Museum System consists of the Branigan Cultural Center, the Las Cruces Museum of Art, the Las Cruces Museum of Nature & science and the Las Cruces Railroad Museum
  • Branigan Cultural Center

o   “Color & Vision exhibit” will run thru August 13. The Artwork of Ailleen Shannon is an exhibit which explores the career of artist Ailleen Shannon who lived in Las Cruces from 1925 until her death in 1964.
o   “Plastics Unwrapped” An exhibit that explores how material culture was rapidly changed by plastics – through August 20.

o   “Painted Parallels” featuring the artwork of Dr. Sohini Dhar and Sudeshna Sengupta. The exhibit is comprised of paintings, drawings textiles and prints by Dhar & Sengupta and showcases the developments of two separate bodies of work by these artists who share common creative roots. The exhibit runs thru August 20.

·         Museum of Art

o   The Las Cruces Museum of Art hosts changing contemporary art exhibits, including national, international, juried, traveling and invitational exhibits. The museum runs an extensive art studio class program for all ages.

o   “Saturday, July 23 at 10 a.m. Family Science Saturday presents Earth Systems – “Geosphere.”

o   Saturday, July 23 at 11a.m., “SNAP” - Merging artistic creativity with Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics presents “Water Cycle.”

o   Saturday, July 23 at 11:30 a.m. presents Animal Encounters featuring “Fish.”

o   The Gilbert and Sullivan Company of El Paso’s Production of “The Sorcerer” July 16 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 17 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 regular admission and $10 for students and seniors over 65.

o    “Orange You Glad You Came” is the art exhibit in the theatregallery by Margaret Bernstein. Thetheatregallery is open one-hour before all performances and by appointment. Call 523-1223 for more information.

o    KRWG presents Steve Smith & Hard Road Trio, an annual KRWG benefit concert on Saturday, July 23 from 7 p.m. - 9:45 p.m. A Great KRWG Tradition!

o   The Doña Ana Council presents “Esteban.” The Flamenco guitarist with daughter, Theresa Joy, on violin that brings a show straight from the heart, Sunday, July 24 at 6 p.m.
