Ex-GOP Legislator Joins NM Think Tank Governing Board

A former member of Gov. Susana Martinez's administration has joined the board of directors of an independent think tank in New Mexico that's helped win enactment of tax and other policy changes.

Think New Mexico announced that former Republican state legislator and Clayton grocer Brian Moore will serve on its board.

Moore became deputy chief of staff for Martinez after she won the governorship in 2010, and he later ran the state's Washington, D.C. office until leaving the administration in 2012.

Moore served in the House of Representatives from 2001 to 2008, and ran unsuccessfully for lieutenant governor in 2010.

The think tank has pushed successfully for measures ranging from an overhaul of the Public Regulation Commission to lifting taxes from most groceries and food staples.
