Ex-Lawmaker Named To NM Technology Commission
Gov. Susana Martinez has appointed former Republican state legislator James Hall of Los Alamos to a commission that oversees state planning of computer systems.
Hall was named to the 15-member Information Technology Commission, which reviews and approves information technology plans and initiatives for the state.
Hall ran the state Information Technology Management Office during former Gov. Gary Johnson's administration. As chief information officer from 1996 to 2000, Hall helped direct computer software changes throughout state government to prevent glitches related to Y2K.
Martinez appointed Hall to the state House of Representatives in 2011, filling a vacancy caused by the death of Republican Jeannette Wallace. He lost in the November general election to Democrat Stephanie Garcia Richard.
