F&A Dairy Adding 20-25 New Employees In Las Cruces

F & A Dairy, a prominent WMIP fixture for the last 20 years, is currently looking for 20 to 25 new employees as a result of strengthening demand for its cheese products.

In a meeting with City and State Economic Development staff, F & A Dairy CFO Casey Habersang discussed the improving business prospects for F& A Dairy, and the need to add additional production workers, supervisors and lab techs at their Las Cruces plant.

“We have seen an increase in orders for our products and we believe this will be fairly consistent demand,” Mr. Habersang said, adding, “As a result we need to add another shift to our plant, and we’re looking for full time employees, and the City and State have stepped up to help us. We are pleased with the cooperation we’re receiving.”

Gary Camarano, the City’s Economic Development Coordinator said, “We’ll help F & A Dairy connect with all of our partners to fill these positions. We’ll be able to help them spread the word about the positions, tap into the resources available for job training and development if necessary, and make sure they get the assistance they need.”

Participating in an ‘open house’ that will coincide with National Manufacturing Day, October 2, 2015, is one action being planned. Camarano explained, “The open house will not only give F & A Dairy exposure to the general public, but allow prospective employees a chance to see what jobs are available and what the environment is there. They can meet with F & A’s human resources and be able to start a career in the food processing industry. We will also assist with F & A’s involvement with the Job Boot Camp and Job Fairs in the region, as well as all of our other partner’s services.”

Prospective employees don’t have to wait for the October 2 open house, they can contact F & A Dairy’s human resources manager Celina Ramirez at celina@fadairy.com or (575) 547-1696 to learn more about opportunities and the application process. The City will announce details about the October 2 Manufacturing Day Open House in mid-September.
