Family Fun Day Saturday In Las Cruces

  Las Cruces – A day full of learning and fun activities for children and adults will be held at Doña Ana Community College, East Mesa Campus (DACC) from 10 am to 2 pm, Saturday, April 16. 

   The Cultural Diversity Committee of Faculty Council presents Family Fun Day; A trip around the world.

   “We invite the community to come and have fun by participating in events designed to bring out the child and the learner in all of us,” said Corey Purcell of the Cultural Diversity Committee. “Bring the children and the whole family for a great multi-cultural experience.”

A main stage located inside of the DASR building will feature Magician Jamie O’Hara, a Tai Chi demonstration, Latin Dance with Salsa Rueda of Las Cruces, and the Las Cruces Ukes (ukulele group). Outdoor events include making giant bubbles, Gold Medal Tae Kwon Do presentation and the Las Cruces High School cheerleaders. Tables will be set up featuring how to make paper flowers, puppet making, a scavenger hunt, a coloring station, a puzzle station, origami, the culinary arts DASCH cooking demo, paper dolls, jewelry making, face painting, and a presentation by the Confucius Institute.

A movie room, game room, and storytelling room round out the entertainment and will feature special guests. In addition those who stop by the Passport table will be automatically entered to get a chance on two tickets to the “Aesop in Ranch Cucamonga” theater production at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
