Family Seeks Valuable Rabbit Missing From State Fair

An El Paso County family is seeking help to find a pet rabbit that went missing from the Southern New Mexico State Fair last week.

Meagan Francis says Keagan, a 4-year-old Holland Lop rabbit, belongs to her daughter.

She says 8-year-old Madison, who has cerebral palsy-like symptoms and is legally blind, had been showing Keagan at the fairgrounds west of Las Cruces.

Francis says the rabbit, worth $500, was last seen in his cage Friday.

Fairgrounds director Joshlinn Madrid says there is a guard on site but there is a large area to patrol.

Francis says the family is willing to offer another bunny in exchange if someone unknowingly bought Keagan.

She says Keagan has "HQ1" tattooed on his left ear.
