The Famous Trees of Texas registry has grown to 92 with this week's addition of trees in Goliad County and near Austin.
The Texas A&M Forest Service on Friday announced the Goliad Anacua (uh-NAH'-kwah) and a 103-foot bald cypress in McKinney Falls State Park known as "Old Baldy" have joined the list.
The trees on the registry are recognized by a Texas Historical Commission marker or have been identified in historical records, media accounts or photos.
A&M Forest Service officials say 65 of the trees on the registry are still alive.
