Fire Alarm Glitch Forces Museum Closure

(Alamogordo, New Mexico) -  The New Mexico Museum of Space History and the Clyde W. Tombaugh IMAX Dome Theater are temporarily closed due to a technical issue with the fire alarm and suppression system at the facilities. The Museum and Theater closed to the public at 2:05 pm on Tuesday, September 10, and are anticipated to reopen within 24 hours.

Museum Executive Director Chris Orwoll said, “The fire alarm systems for the Museum and Theater are currently not functioning due to a computer problem. Although we expect the issue to be resolved within the next 24 hours, for safety reasons we are closing the buildings to the public until the problem is fixed. We do hope to reopen both facilities by noon tomorrow.”
