First-Ever Tax Hike For Mesilla?

By KRWG News

Mesilla – In the 52 years that Mesilla has been a town, it's never increased property taxes. That could end soon because town officials are considering asking voters to approve a $1.5 million general obligation bond that would mean the first-ever property tax increase in Mesilla.

Mesilla resident Connie Delgado tells the Las Cruces Sun-News (http://bit.ly/o3eJtS ) she wants to know more about it before approving any tax increase.

Mayor Nora Barraza says Mesilla residents will be educated on the needs of the town. She says going forward Mesilla is in dire need of infrastructure improvements.
