First On KRWG: Early Voting Begins In Las Cruces; Computer Glitch Will Require Votes To Be Recast

Early voting is underway for the City of Las Cruces, Nov. 3, municipal election. The races include: mayor, council districts 1, 2 and 4, and presiding municipal court judge. Early voting takes place only at the City Clerk’s office located at 700 N. Main Street in City Hall.

A computer glitch concerning ballots for districts 4 and 6 was discovered after 12 people had already voted. The error, which affected five of those 12 voters, has been corrected. The five voters were identified and will be contacted to allow an opportunity to recast their vote. The recast may include an absentee ballot or returning to the City Clerk’s office to early vote. Their previous sealed votes will not be counted.

Eligible residents are invited to visit the Las Cruces City Clerk’s office to cast their vote.

Early voting runs Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday voting is also available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on October 17, 24, and 31.
