Flight Diverted After Security Threat

By KRWG News

Albuquerque – A man aboard a Delta Air Lines flight that was diverted to Albuquerque, N.M., after a security scare says the pilot told passengers that a note with the word "bomb" was found in a bathroom.

Tim Cole told The Associated Press that everyone's luggage was searched after the plane landed in New Mexico. Authorities had not released any details about the incident Sunday.

The plane was flying from Detroit to San Diego at the time. The FBI says agents searched the plane and interviewed the 107 passengers and the crew before clearing it to fly again.

The agency says no suspicious devices were found. No one was arrested.

Cole says an agent asked him only a couple of questions, and that all passengers got water, soda and pizza.

Albuquerque International Sunport spokesman Daniel Jiron says the plane was diverted at 10 a.m. MDT, and took off from New Mexico at 4:23 p.m.
