Food Drive At Aggie Basketball October 29 And November 20, 25 Games

The Aggie Men’s Basketball team will utilize 3 games to help bring in canned food donations for two local food assistance providers, the Aggie Cupboard and El Caldito Soup Kitchen.

The first game, an October 29 exhibition game against Western New Mexico, will be free. Volunteers and members of the men’s basketball team will be available to collect food donations from fans as they enter the game.

The public will have the opportunity to get into the November 20th and 25th games for a reduced price if they bring in 2 canned food items. The normal $8 ticket price will be reduced to $5 for those who bring in 2 canned food items.

When asked why supporting these two organizations was important to NMSU Men’s Basketball, Coach Menzies replied, "It has always been important to me, my family and our team to support the Aggie Cupboard and El Caldito Soup Kitchen. We speak daily to our guys about the great things the Las Cruces community does for us. The New Mexico State Basketball team is pleased to work with both organizations for such a great cause.”

The Aggie Cupboard is a food pantry begun in 2012 for the NMSU students and employees, and El Caldito Soup kitchen has served the local community for 29 years.
