Former Las Cruces Man Charged With Molesting Relative

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Police have charged a former resident of Las Cruces with raping a young family member multiple times.

David Juarez Carbajal, 56, who currently resides in Houston, Texas, is charged with 13 counts of criminal sexual penetration of a child under 13 and one count of incest. Carbajal was arrested in Houston over the weekend and is in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He has already waived extradition back to Las Cruces.

Las Cruces Police detectives learned that in 2002, while living in Las Cruces, Carbajal began molesting a young female relative when she was under the age of 10. It is believed that Carbajal continued molesting the girl for at least six years until the time he was arrested on unrelated charges.

The victim now lives with foster parents.

Bond for Carbajal is set at $100,000 cash.
