Fort Bliss Training

By KRWG News

El Paso – Fort Bliss has announced plans for nearly three weeks of field training in an exercise that will mean more troops, traffic and noise in the northern El Paso area.

Details of the training were announced Wednesday. Post officials say the increased military presence also will be seen in southern New Mexico.

More than 3,000 soldiers and hundreds of vehicles will take part in the exercise scheduled to begin Monday. The exercise wraps up Feb. 17.

A statement from Fort Bliss says units from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, will also be simulating battle, using pyrotechnics and training ammunition that can be heard for miles.
