Four Charged In Las Cruces Burglary

Las Cruces Police arrested four young adults suspected of burglarizing a home Saturday evening in the Elks Club neighborhood.

Corina Portillo, 22, and 20-year-olds Anthony Alexander Holguin, Felix Salazar and Joshua E. Godlewski are charged with one count each of aggravated burglary, breaking and entering, larceny, and three counts of conspiracy.

At around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 29, a watchful neighbor called 911 to report a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a home on the 4100 block of Mojave Drive. As police were responding to the call, the 2002 red Honda driven by Portillo left the residence but was stopped by officers on Elks Drive.

Las Cruces Police detectives determined that Godlewski knew the homeowner’s daughter and conspired with Holguin, Salazar and Portillo to burglarize the residence. The three men entered the home through a back door, stole several items and then fled out the front door. Portillo then drove the three men from the area before officers located them on Elks Drive.

Holguin and Salazar are being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bonds set at $25,000 each. Godlewski’s bond is $20,000 and Portillo is being held on a $10,000 bond.

The items stolen from the residence were located in the Honda.
