Four Teens Arrested For Burglary In Las Cruces

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – Las Cruces Police arrested and charged four teenagers for their involvement in a residential burglary that was committed Monday afternoon.

Jesus Salas, 17, Eric Garcia, 17, and 16-year-olds Joshua Carricato and Brandon Saiz have been arrested since the Monday, Dec. 27, burglary was committed. All four teens are charged with one count each of residential burglary, conspiracy and tampering with evidence.

The four boys were given juvenile Class III referrals but the state's Juvenile Probation Office declined to detain the teens and they were all turned over to the custody of family members.

At around 2 p.m. Monday a neighbor called police after witnessing the teens prowling in the 3400 block of Pinnacle View Drive. Las Cruces Police responded to the area and located Salas and Saiz attempting to leave in a pickup driven by Salas. Carricato and Garcia were detained later.

Detectives learned that the teens first knocked on the front door of a residence to see if anyone was home. Once they determined that no one was home, the teens went to the backyard and broke into the home through a window. Once inside, they took a television, electronics and jewelry amongst other items.

Detectives have reason to believe that the four may be responsible for other home burglaries that have been committed in Las Cruces over the past two months. Detectives are continuing their investigation and additional charges are possible.
