Free Fishing Saturday

By KRWG News

New Mexico – New Mexicans and people from outside the state can fish for free on Saturday in public streams, rivers and lakes.

The Department of Game and Fish says no licenses or special permits will be needed although fishing regulations remain in effect, including limits on how many fish anglers can keep.

Also on Saturday, the department and others will conduct free fishing clinics at several locations across the state.

One clinic will be held at a Walmart in Roswell and the department will stock a large swimming pool with catfish.

There are clinics at Tingley Beach in Albuquerque, Eagle Rock Lake near Questa, Blue Hole Park Pond in Santa Rosa, Alumni Pond in Las Cruces, Riverside Park fishing pond in Aztec, Grants Riverwalk Pond and Lake Roberts in southwestern New Mexico.
