Freeport McMoran Announces Layoffs in Grant County

Las Cruces, NM – Monday Grant County's biggest employer Freeport-McMoRan announced the layoffs of 36 employees at the Tyrone mine. This announcement came on the heels of last week's layoffs of almost 100 workers at the Chino Mine. As KRWG's Evan Woodward reports, Freeport-McMoRan says the layoffs were the result of tumbling copper prices.
