Las Cruces – Music often brings people together; for the Mesilla Valley Chorale and a choir in France, it brought both groups together across thousands of miles. When a visiting French tourist heard the Mesilla Valley Chorale sing a few years ago, she invited them to her town, Savigne L'Eveque. In 2009, the Mesilla Valley Chorale performed in France, and now, two years later, the Chorale de Savigne L'Eveque is performing in Alamogordo and Las Cruces to fulfill the cultural exchange.
The conductors of both choruses, Jean Picouleau and Nancy Ritchey, stopped by the KRWG studios to talk with Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin about their choruses, and the music they've chosen to perform.
