Fugitive Sought In Stabbing Of Brother

Las Cruces – The Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's assistance in attempting to locate a fugitive, wanted for the alleged stabbing of his brother on Friday, June 11, 2010.

A warrant was issued earlier today by Magistrate Judge Joseph Guillory for the arrest of OMAR SALAZAR, age 26, (DOB: 09/25/1983) for two, third degree counts of Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member (Deadly Weapon), after he allegedly stabbed his brother, age 36, with a pair of scissors in the chest, at their parents residence in Vado.

The Victim was then allegedly struck over the head by SALAZAR with the Victim's rodeo belt buckle.

The Victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center, treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

SALAZAR, who is homeless, was seen last wearing a white baseball cap, white sleeveless shirt and blue jeans.

SALAZAR is described as 5 feet 6 inches, weighing 180 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

SALAZAR threatened to return with a handgun and should be considered dangerous; do not attempt to make contact.
