The Full Schedule: Las Cruces Fourth Of July Celebration

  There is still time to enter the City of Las Cruces Electric Light Parade Presented by Wells Fargo. The parade is at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. Enter by calling the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department for a parade packet at 575/541-2550, Monday thru Thursday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Deadline to enter is Friday, June 27. Entry is free and this year’s theme is “Hats Off to America.” The parade will remain in downtown Las Cruces.

The July 4th events will move to a new location this year. The concerts and fireworks will be at the Las Cruces Public Schools Sports Complex (The Field of Dreams), 2501 Tashiro Rd. Parking will be available at Mayfield High School, Picacho Middle School, and at the stadium. Viewing areas include the stadium (entertainment and activities) and soccer fields east of stadium (spectator area). No RVs or trailer parking allowed and absolutely no fireworks will be allowed in events area. City of Las Cruces policy restricts pets at all City-sponsored events!

All entertainment and activities are FREE.

July 3

7:45 p.m.        The Electric 5K Fun Run – Staging and start/finish line Main Street and Picacho Avenue (in front of Albert Johnson Park). The Electric 5K, now adds the excitement of a 3.1 mile running race on the parade route. The route is Main Street, to Church Street around to Water Street. Co-Presented by the Las Cruces Running Club and the City Las Cruces.

9 p.m.             Electric Light Parade/Presented by Wells Fargo – Theme: Hats Off To America. Staging will be at 700 N. Main St., (in front of Las Cruces City Hall). The route is Church Street around to Water Street ends on north Main Street.

Annual Fourth for July Celebration/Presented By the Las Cruces

Lottery and the City of Las Cruces – New Location Field of

Dreams, 2501 Tashiro Rd.

 

12 p.m.           Youth and Family Activities – The City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department will provide fun, supervised activities.

Activities include large-scale obstacle course, and group and team games.

                        Food and Beverage Vendors – Vendors will sell food prepared on-site and a local fundraising group will sell cold beverages.

4 p.m.             Local Bands

5:30 p.m.       New Mexico Lottery Drawing - Three Harley-Davidson Motorcycles will be given away

6 p.m.             Yesterday – Beatles tribute band: Live from Las Vegas, NV

8 p.m.             Don McLean – America’s Legendary singer-songwriter, performer of “American Pie”, “Crying”, “And I Love You So, Vincent (Starry, Starry Night) 

9:15 p.m.        Mayor’s Welcome

                        Presentation of Colors

                        National Anthem

                        New Mexico Lottery Drawing - Three Harley-Davidson Motorcycles will be given away
