Gabbi and Leland reunite for New Horizons performance of Mozart and more

Leora Zeitlin

Cora Patterson plays horn in the New Horizons Orchestra, a community orchestra made up of amateur, professional, and student musicians who rehearse weekly for the sheer love of making music. Their next concert is this Sunday, when they’ll perform music by Mozart and Sibelius under the direction of conductor Marianna Gabbi and guest conductor Kathleen Hill. The concert also reunites Gabbi and pianist William Leland, long-time friends and collaborators, who were colleagues at New Mexico State until their respective retirements, but who continue to perform together occasionally. Cora joined  Intermezzo host Leora Zeitlin – who recently joined the NHSO as a violinist – to talk about the music that will be featured, and to hear about the famous horns that Patterson makes with her husband Jim.
