GOP Chair Speaks In Albuquerque

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus says his party needs to increase its numbers without changing its political platform in order to beat Democrats.  Priebus made the remarks during a speech Saturday in Albuquerque.

His remarks came less than a week after the NRC released a report recommending the party try to grow its ranks in part by supporting immigration overhaul efforts and offering more welcoming attitudes on gay rights.

He says that in preparation for the 2016 presidential race, Republicans must shift toward a year-round approach to campaigning rather than waiting until Election Day nears.

Priebus made no mention during his remarks about how the party can better connect with Hispanics in New Mexico or be more welcoming to the gay community.
