Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce Earns 4-Star Accreditation

The Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce has been awarded with 4-Star Accreditation by the United States Chamber of Commerce, according to Troy Tudor, Interim President and CEO, Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce.

“This represents our high level of commitment to our members and the community as well as the professional standards and hard work of our chamber staff,” said 2016 GLCCC Board Chair Russell Allen.   We’re thrilled to once again receive a 4-Star Accreditation and also very proud to be the only accredited chamber in the state of New Mexico and ranked among the top chambers across the country.”

To receive accreditation a Chamber of Commerce is judged on its policies, organizational procedures, and impact on the community.

“Accreditation validates a chamber as having programs that benefit their local economy and for positively influencing action in their community,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, Vice President, Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management.  “We applaud these organizations for advancing the principles of free enterprise.”

Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology.

Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations.

The mission of the Greater Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce is to provide valuable services for our members, enhance and sustain the economy, promote the community and serve as the leading voice and public policy advocate for business in the Greater Las Cruces region.
