A green chile crisis has been averted.
The University of New Mexico said Wednesday that The Pit, home of the school's men's and women's basketball teams, will serve green chile after all.
Assistant Athletic Director Frank Mercogliano told The Associated Press that stadium officials were able to receive another shipment of green chile not affected by a current recall.
The stadium had announced on social media Tuesday that a major recall is forcing officials to pull all green chile for the rest of the season.
A family-owned food company in Albuquerque said earlier this month a voluntarily recall of its frozen non-ready-to-eat green chile products. Bueno Foods say the products have the potential to contain low levels of the common bacteria Listeria monocytogenes in its uncooked state.
