Hearing Set For NM PTSD Medical Marijuana Listing

A hearing aimed at possibly removing post-traumatic stress disorder from the list of eligible medical conditions for medical marijuana use is set to begin.

The New Mexico's Medical Cannabis Program's Medical Advisory Board is scheduled Wednesday to hold a public hearing in Santa Fe to consider a petition for the removal.

A coalition of supporters to keep PTSD listed is expected to testify in opposition of the proposal.

Among those scheduled to attend are talk-show host Montel Williams, who supports efforts to keep PTSD as a qualifying condition in New Mexico.

Around 3,000 residents with PTSD are enrolled in the state's medical marijuana program.
