KRWG News – SANTA FE, N.M. (KRWG) Democratic Congressman Martin Heinrich was the leading fundraiser during the past quarter among New Mexico's incumbents in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission show that Heinrich had a balance of about $349,800 in his campaign account at the end of March. Heinrich announced earlier this month that he's running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated in 2012 by Democrat Jeff Bingaman.
Heinrich collected about $343,500 in contributions from January through March. He can use the money for his Senate campaign.
Republican Congressman Steve Pearce has a campaign balance of $148,500 and Democrat Ben Ray Lujan had $122,600 in his re-election campaign account.
Pearce received about $125,000 in contributions and Lujan raised about $108,000 during the quarter.
