A Hobbs teen has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting of a former Lovington High School football player.
17-year-old was taken into custody Friday and charged with murder for the Oct. 28 shooting death of 20-year-old Gary Nash.
Hobbs Police Chief Chris McCall would not elaborate on the case or what led officers to the teen.
Authorities say Nash was found Tuesday lying in the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Nash was taken to Lea Regional Medical Center, but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers don't believe Nash was the intended target of the shooting.
