January 30, 2014 – Las Cruces, NM - On this edition of PUENTES, Emily Guerra bridges the community with Executive Director of Mesilla Valley Habitat for Humanity, Maria Vasquez. Mesilla Valley Habitat was founded in 1987. It is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, which was founded in 1976 with affiliates in all 50 states, and operates in over 90 countries. Over 600 homes have been built throughout New Mexico.
This year the 100th house built by Mesilla Valley Habitat will be completed in the spring. “Give Your Heart to Habitat”, a special fundraiser to help with the completion, will be held on Thursday, February 12th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Amaro Winery, 402 S. Melendres St. in Las Cruces.
