I-25 Closure Sunday Morning In Las Cruces; University Ramp Closed Starting Monday

Las Cruces – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) District One office along with FNF Construction continue with work along I-25 between Lohman Avenue (exit 3) and University Avenue (exit 1).

The contractor continues with work along I-25 where the contractor will be relocating utility lines that will have a section of I-25 closed between Lohman Ave and University Ave (mm 3-1). This is scheduled to take place on Sunday March 22 from 7:00 am until 7:10 am (10 minute closure). Intermittent lane closures will continue for Triviz Drive, Don Roser, and Missouri Ave during weekly operations Monday through Friday.

Earth work on I-25 with the movement of large equipment can be found as the contractor prepares to shift the southbound traffic to the northbound lanes. The shift in traffic will be between Lohman Ave (exit 3) to University Ave (exit 1) which is scheduled for March 27. The demolition of the I-25 southbound bridge over Missouri Ave will take place March 27-30 and require Missouri Avenue to be close between Triviz Road and Don Roser as work is being performed.

An additional restriction scheduled for I-25 will be the off ramp for University Ave (exit 1). This ramp will be CLOSED starting Monday March 23 and will run through the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to seek an alternate route. The I-10/University exit will be open to motorists along with all secondary routes.

The next Public Involvement Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday March 25, 2015 at the District One Complex located at 750 N. Solano in Las Cruces, NM. The meeting will start promptly at 6:00 pm with members of the NMDOT, FNF and Molzen Corbin available to answer any questions the public may have regarding this project.
