I-25 Southbound Closure Wednesday Night

The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) and A.S. Horner continue work on the I-10/ I-25 System Interchange, with detours advising motorists of lane restrictions and detours.

The contractor will have an overnight CLOSURE for I-25 southbound Wednesday November 28, 2012 from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., as they install overhead sign structures and place concrete at the I-10 eastbound Bridge.

The NMDOT has the following alerts for this project, and encourage motorists to exercise caution through the construction zone due to speed reductions, width restrictions, heavy equipment, and construction personnel within the work area.

Contractor: A.S. Horner, Inc.:

  • I-25 Southbound (SB) & I-25 Northbound (NB): Traffic is reduced to one-lane in each direction.  Speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH. Traffic will be switching lanes periodically throughout this phase for reconstruction of the driving lanes on I-25 NB and SB.
  • I-10 Eastbound (EB) & Westbound (WB):  Traffic is reduced to one-lane in each direction.  Traffic has been switched to the newly constructed eastbound lanes. Speed limit is reduced to 45 MPH.
  • Las Alturas has been re-aligned (east of old alignment). Roadway widths remain restricted for construction of the MSE retaining wall.
  • Stern Drive has been re-aligned (west of old alignment) for construction of the flyover ramp.

This project will be progressing in stages where updates will be posted on the NMDOT home page http://www.dot.state.nm.us/InterchangeI10-I25.html  and on the road advisory site at www.NMroads.com.
