Increased Security At Fort Bliss

By KRWG News

El Paso – The Department of Defense through major command channels has directed an increase in current security policy due to world events. There is no information regarding increased threats to Fort Bliss or the El Paso area. Due to this directive, Fort Bliss officials announced a change in current security posture on the installation. Steps are being taken to increase threat awareness, to include random ID checks as an example. Easy access through the gates will be temporarily suspended.

Individuals who do not possess a military identification card or have prior Fort Bliss approval will be required to obtain a pass through either the Fort Bliss website (E-Pass), Robert E. Lee or Biggs Army Airfield pass office. These measures are expected to be temporary.
