Infant Dies At Elephant Butte Lake

A 3-year-old girl has died after falling off a pontoon boat at Elephant Butte Lake and being struck by the vessel's propeller.

The Albuquerque Journal reports that the girl was struck by the propeller only a few feet from shore Sunday morning as she fell in the water in front of the boat.

Authorities don't believe alcohol was a factor in the accident, and no one had been charged Sunday in connection to her death.
