Authorities have recaptured one of two Bernalillo County jail inmates who escaped from a transport van in Albuquerque.
Metropolitan Detention Center officials say 20-year-old Andreas Macias was found hiding at his home in Albuquerque Monday night.
Macias and 37-year-old Brandon Davis escaped earlier Monday while en route from cout to the jail.
They escaped when the van stopped at a hospital to pick up an inmate who was being discharged and taken back to the jail.
Authorities say Macias and Davis kicked the back door to the van open and escaped on foot about 6 p.m.
