A construction project that has constricted Interstate 10 traffic through Las Cruces is taking longer than expected.
The Las Cruces Sun-News reports that delays in delivery of material for abutment walls means completion of the Avenida de Mesilla overpass won't take place until at least August.
That'd be a month's delay.
The old eastbound bridge has been removed and construction is about to start on a new one. In the meantime, traffic in each direction is using one lane on the westbound bridge.
