Doña Ana County Sheriff’s investigators are trying to locate a man who recently moved to Doña Ana County and went missing earlier this month.
On Saturday Aug. 3, Elias Gonzalez Carrasco, 50, reportedly told his roommate he was leaving for a job in Truth or Consequences. Carrasco was traveling on his mountain bike and left at approximately 11 p.m.
On Monday Aug. 5, Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies say Carrasco’s bike, still in working condition and with all of his belongings that he took for the trip, was found abandoned in the desert north of Las Cruces near the Jornada Experimental Range.
Investigators assigned to the case describe Carrasco’s disappearance as “suspicious” and are hoping someone might recognize Carrasco’s face.
Anyone with information on Carrasco’s whereabouts is asked to call the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office at (575) 525-1911 or the Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority at (575) 526-0795.
