Deming – Authorities say the last of three federal prisoners who escaped earlier this month from a Deming jail has been recaptured.
The U.S. Marshals Service in New Mexico says 30-year-old Mario Martinez-Rios was taken into custody Friday evening.
Federal authorities in Colorado developed information that led to Martinez-Rios being found at a vacant mobile home in Deming.
They say Martinez-Rios will be taken to the Dona Ana County Detention Center and appear Monday before a federal magistrate.
He was being held at the Luna County Detention Center in Deming on charges of entering the U.S. illegally.
Martinez-Rios and two others escaped April 17 through a hole in the fence surrounding the jail. Two of the men were caught the next day after being spotted by a Customs and Border Protection helicopter.
