Kidnapping Suspect Arrested

By KRWG News

Las Cruces – JUAN JARAMILLO JR., age 24, of Milagro, was apprehended earlier Tuesday at approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Border Patrol Checkpoint north of Las Cruces on Intestate 25, for Kidnapping in the First Degree and other related Domestic charges.

According to Sheriff's Investigators, JARAMILLO allegedly broke into his girlfriend's apartment last night and allegedly "dragged" her by her hair from her apartment and forced her and their two year old child to go with him to his parent's residence in Milagro, in order to keep her from calling 911.

Once at his parent's residence, JARAMILLO allegedly demanded that that Victim, age 20, prepare him a meal. The Victim, in fear for her and her child's safety, complied with his demands.

A short while later the Victim was driven back to her residence by JARAMILLO'S mother, at which time the Victim was able to call 911 from a neighbor's residence.
Magistrate Judge Joseph Guillory issued a warrant today charging JARAMILLO with one count of First Degree Kidnapping, one count of Breaking and Entering, two counts of Battery against a Household Member, one count of Interference with Communications and one count of Criminal Damage to Property. Bond has been set at $100,000.00 cash.
