King Airs TV Ad In Governor's Race

Democrat Gary King has started airing a television advertisement in the primary election race for governor.

King's campaign announced the ad on Friday, about 10 days before Election Day. He becomes the third Democrat to launch TV ads in the gubernatorial contest.

King's ad stresses his experience as a two-term attorney general, describing him as the "proven candidate for governor."

The ad touches on King's record on issues involving children, senior citizens, families and water.

Democrats Alan Webber and Lawrence Rael have been airing TV ads since earlier this month. Republican Gov. Susana Martinez started her TV ad campaign in April, and is unopposed in the primary.

Other Democrats running for governor are Sens. Linda Lopez and Howie Morales.

The Democratic primary winner will challenge Martinez in the general election.
