Las Cruces – A company calling itself GHS Solutions is mailing letters to Dona Ana County residents offering to settle unsecured debt. The letters state that Dona Ana County records indicate that the recipient meets "the minimum requirements and [is] located in a qualifying area."
Dona Ana County does not maintain records on consumer debt, and has provided no documentation to GHS Solutions regarding any individual or property owner.
From time to time, companies create and disseminate official-looking documents that appear to have the endorsement or cooperation of Dona Ana County. This has occurred in the past with companies seeking to sell documents that are readily available in the Dona Ana County Clerk's Office for significantly less than the price quoted in the letters.
Anyone receiving any such correspondence is advised to treat it with suspicion. Anyone with questions about such unsolicited letters is encouraged to call the Dona Ana County Public information Office at (575) 525-5801 for assistance in determining the legitimacy of the correspondence.
