New Mexico Tourism Cabinet Secretary Monique Jacobson and members of the Tourism Department will honor several Las Cruces and Mesilla “New Mexico True Culinary Treasures” restaurants December 11 and 12.
Secretary Jacobson will present customized t-shirts to each business designating them as “New Mexico True,” and thanking the business owners for their "years of dedication in providing an authentic New Mexican dining experience to locals and tourists alike".

The New Mexico True Culinary Treasures program is spearheaded by the Tourism Department, with the help of the New Mexico Restaurant Association. Dozens of restaurants throughout the state have earned a spot on the True Culinary Treasures list, which began three years ago. To qualify as a True Culinary Treasure, an establishment must have been in operation for a minimum of 40 years, be family-owned and operated, and have no more than two locations.
